Why metal
My obsession begins with metal textures and the complexity of making them feel inevitable. iPods, amplifiers, Leica's Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 in Silver Chrome, and the Cybertruck each sharpened that instinct. A painter works through pigment and surface; I am drawn to metals and alloys, and to the transformation of materials from the earth into objects of precision and beauty.
Keep the things worth keeping.
The appeal is also practical. Well-made metal objects can be durable, stable in everyday use, repairable, and recyclable, allowing them to remain useful and beautiful for a long time. Against disposable plastics and other short-lived materials, that longevity offers a more considered way to consume.
The Metal Shop is a curation of that beauty and a place to share this passion. I hope it helps more people notice the character of these objects, understand how they are made, and choose enduring metal products for their own lives.
